NATEC’s Forklift Class I–V Operator Training is designed for employees who may be required to operate powered industrial trucks as part of their job duties. This initial training provides the knowledge and practical skills necessary to safely operate forklifts in accordance with applicable regulations, industry standards, and manufacturer requirements.
This course applies to common industrial forklift classifications used in warehouse and general industry environments. Equipment types may include electric rider forklifts (Class I), narrow aisle trucks and order pickers (Class II), electric pallet jacks and walkie stackers (Class III), and internal combustion forklifts with cushion or pneumatic tires (Class IV & V).
Training is specific to the type(s) of forklift used at the client’s facility.
Classroom instruction includes operating instructions, warnings, and precautions; forklift controls and instrumentation; engine or motor operation; steering and maneuverability; visibility; vehicle capacity and stability; inspection and operator maintenance; refueling or battery charging; operating limitations; surface conditions; load composition and stability; stacking and unstacking; pedestrian traffic; and restricted operating areas.
Hands-on training includes controls review, pre-trip inspection, and practical operation exercises. Written and practical exams are administered.

Hands-on training is conducted using the specific make and model of forklift(s) provided by the client.
