The Right Training. The Right Partner. The Right Protection.

Cleanup operations at homeless encampments aren’t just labor-intensive—they’re legally regulated and potentially life-threatening. These sites often contain hazardous substances including drug residues, biohazardous waste, used sharps, and chemical contaminants. When recognized by a government agency as hazardous, these worksites are classified as uncontrolled hazardous waste sites, triggering strict compliance requirements under 29 CFR § 1910.120(a)(1)(iii) and Cal/OSHA 8 CCR § 5192.

At NATEC International, we don’t just provide training—we set the standard. Our Specialized 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification gives your team the knowledge, confidence, and compliance coverage to operate safely in some of the most challenging urban cleanup environments.

What You Get

This is not off-the-shelf training. Your team will receive:

✅ Full 40-Hour HAZWOPER General Site Worker Certification
Aligned with all requirements under 29 CFR § 1910.120(b)-(o) and Cal/OSHA § 5192, including site safety planning, hazard recognition, decontamination, and medical surveillance.

✅ Specialized Encampment Cleanup Instruction
We go beyond the basics—addressing the real hazards faced during encampment operations, including:

  • Drug residue & biohazard exposure
  • Needle and sharps handling
  • Mixed chemical waste and unknowns

✅ Integrated Compliance with Additional OSHA Standards
OSHA recognizes that homeless encampment cleanup often involves multiple overlapping hazards. That’s why we also incorporate training aligned with:

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): 29 CFR § 1910.132 / 8 CCR § 3380
  • Respiratory Protection: 29 CFR § 1910.134 / 8 CCR § 5144
  • Bloodborne Pathogens: 29 CFR § 1910.1030 / 8 CCR § 5193
  • Hazard Communication: 29 CFR § 1910.1200 / 8 CCR § 5194

We train to the most protective standards—as required by 29 CFR § 1910.120(a)(2)(i)—ensuring your team exceeds minimum compliance and is fully prepared for the field.
