Description
The target audience for this Sacramento HAZWOPER Refresher course is all employees whose job functions involve responding to releases of hazardous materials. Required for all persons holding the 40 Hour certificates needing refreshers. Including updates, required subjects, hands-on by request and certificate of completion.
The training course will include, but is not limited to the following topics:
- Identification and classification of hazardous materials.
- Knowledge of the basic hazard and risk assessment techniques.
- Know how to select and use proper PPE provided to the first responder operational level.
- An understanding of basic hazardous materials terms.
- Know how to perform basic control, containment, and/or confinement operations and rescue injured or contaminated persons within the capabilities of the resources and PPE available with their unit.
- Know how to implement basic equipment, victim, and rescue personnel decontamination procedures.
- An understanding of the relevant standard operating procedures and termination procedures.
- An overview of vehicle marking and placarding.
- Safe work practices that minimize hazards.
- Proposition 65.
- Any cancellations or requests to reschedule any upcoming legislation.
