Online Toolbox Topics: Machine Guarding Course

The Online Toolbox Topics: Machine Guarding Course discusses General Industry machine guarding and how to safely use machinery on the jobsite. Machinery has many moving parts that could cause minor to severe injuries including severed fingers, amputations, burns or possibly blindness. The Toolbox Talk: Machine Guarding Course encourages dialogue amongst coworkers during the operation of machinery to ensure safe work practices.

This toolbox topic will discuss hazardous machine parts and  their fundamental properties such as:

  • Point of operation
  • Power transmission apparatus
  • Other moving parts

The Machine Guarding Course will also go over machine guarding requirements such as preventing contact, securing safeguards, protection from falling objects, non-interference and safe lubrication of machines.
