Description
This course meets the CDPH requirements for inspection and Assessment training. In this five-day course, students study and put into practice U.S. department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) protocols for inspecting facilities for lead coatings and for accessing hazards posed by lead. The Lead Inspector / Risk Assessor 40 Hour Course meets the CDPH requirements for inspection and Assessment training. In this five-day course, students study and put into practice U.S. department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) protocols for inspecting facilities for lead coatings and for accessing hazards posed by lead. Students learn the limits and uses of paint chip sampling and its analysis by atomic absorption; students will learn the principles of x-ray fluorescence (XRF) testing and use state-of-the-art XRF analyzers in the field. Students perform risk assessments under the guidance of a field-experienced instructor. Student/Instructor ratios for field exercises are at most 10:1 so that each student receives the attention and instruction that they need.
Certificate of Completion: A CDPH Course Completion Form and a certificate documenting Lead-Related Construction Inspector/Assessor training is awarded to each student who attends the course. Full attendance is mandatory.
