KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF A FLAGGER

• Controlling traffic flow around construction zones using signs and hand signals.
• Alerting motorists to detours and important traffic-related information.
• Complying with and directing traffic according to traffic cones and construction signs, including “Road Work Ahead” and “Road Closed” signs.
• Coordinating and communicating effectively with other flaggers and construction workers to help ensure the safety of all parties.
• Recording instances of reckless driving.

CERTIFICATION

Upon successful completion, participants will receive the NATEC Flagger Certification, acknowledging their preparedness to take on the responsibilities of a traffic control flagger and their commitment to maintaining safety on and around construction sites.
