  • Module I: Valve Operation

    Classroom (4 hours): Dozer valve operation, hydraulic operation, proper speed for carrying material.

    Field Training (12 hours): Hands-on training: Dozer valve operation, ripping, blade operation.
  • Module II: Bank and Cut Work
    Classroom (4 hours): Dozer technique, bank, cut and fill, stock piling of dirt.

    Field Training (12 hours): Hands-on training: Pushing dirt using various techniques in bank, dirt, cut and fill, and stock piling.
  • Module III: Slot Dozing
    Classroom (4 hours): Slot dozing and grading.

    Field Training (12 hours): Hands-on training: Slot dozing, grading, carrying, rough grading.
  • Module IV: Compacting and Sheep Foot Operations
    Classroom (4 hours): Slope grading, sheep foot compacting, proper spacing of dozer and water truck for compacting, cycle time.


    Field Training (12 hours): Hands-on training: working on hillside for cut and fill, grade checking, soil compacting, cycle time.
  • Module V: Slope Board and Sidehill Work
    Classroom (4 hours): Slope board work, cutting banks, moving dirt for cut and fill, pioneer work, sloping a hill without a slope board.

    Field Training (12 hours): Hands-on training: Slope board work on hillsides, working without a slope board, pioneering a roadway.
