OSHA Now Taking Complaints Online

OSHA Online Complaint FormIn a recent announcement it appears the Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration has moved into the 21st century by now allowing whistle blowers to file their complaint through online form.

This should make the process of filing a complaint much more efficient. The online form includes information so that the whistle blower who filed the complaint may be contacted conveniently. For those who do not want to submit their complaint online will also be able to print out the form and submit a hard copy the old-fashioned way.

How complaints have been handled in the past is through a written complaint, by calling the agency’s hotline at 1-800-321-OSHA, or by going into a local agency office in person. With this new change people may still use these older methods to file their complaints but additionally have the option to www.osha.gov/whistleblower/WBComplaint.html and file the complaint online.

OSHA’s top priority is employee safety and works to protect employees by creating standards and enforcing them through penalties such as fines to the employer. For more information on these standards and filing a complaint please visit osha.gov.
