The DOSH Asbestos Consultant Certification Unit has published its next round of exam dates for CAC and CSST certifications!

Exam Requirements

• Obtain and submit the Cal/OSHA “Examination Application Packet” for asbestos consultant/technician certification
• Provide full applicant information as required under Title 8, Section 341.15
  • Name, aliases, DOB, SSN, home/employer address, phone numbers
    • Attach two recent 1½ × 1½ passport-style color photos

• Include copies of required asbestos training certificates from Cal/OSHA-approved AHERA training:
  • CAC: Building Inspector, Management Planner, Project Designer, Contractor/Supervisor and refreshers
  • CSST: Building Inspector and Contractor/Supervisor and refreshers

• Submit documentation of qualifying work experience and/or education, including employer-verified asbestos-related experience as required by Title 8
• Pay the required application and examination fees (CAC: $500, CSST: $400), as specified in Cal/OSHA regulations

Exam Format

• The exam for CAC will consist of 200 multiple-choice questions; the exam for CSST will consist of 176 multiple-choice questions
• Each exam is a closed-book, and candidates are given 3 hours and 40 minutes (excluding check-in/out) to complete the test
• To pass, candidates must correctly answer 70% of the questions
